What changes the price

Ground conditions, access for machines, the paving and the equipment are where quotes for the same pool tend to part ways. One builder may include them all while another leaves them as extras.

Ask each builder for a list of what is excluded. The landscaping and moving soil off site are often the costs that arrive later.

Before you choose a builder

Have your site plan and know where pipes, cables and any easements run. Builders can only price the dig accurately when they know what is under the ground.

Ask to see a pool each builder has finished. Seeing one in use tells you more than a brochure.
